On August, 29 the measurement of the new routing of the Linz Donau marathon according to guidelines of IAAF has been carried out.

Planned distances:
First Runner: 9,7 km - handover 1 to 2 at Gruberstraße; 3 minutes walk from the Brucknerhaus Linz
Second Runner: 11,3 km - handover 2 to 3 at Promenade; 10 minutes walk from the Brucknerhaus Linz
Third Runner: 14,8 km - handover 3 to 4 at corner Wienerstraße (close by Bulgariplatz); there is a bus transfer back to Holzstraße
Fourth Runner: 6,4 km - runs to the finish, Linz main square; there is a bus transfer to Wienerstraße

HOW AND WHERE?

Online registration: www.pentek-payment.at
Payment: Mastercard, Visacard or unique direct debit.
Participants who have registered via the internet on www.pentek-payment.at and who have paid the starting fee, can print their confirmation, including their starting number. The confirmation must be handed in when fetching the starting documents. Online registrations will not receive other postal confirmation. Therefore please enter a valid email address when registering online.

These registrations receive a written confirmation with detail of the allocated number via snail mail (or email, if a valid email address has been included). The dispatch of the participation confirmations is carried out after the first closing date on January, 24, 2011.
Late registration
Late registration possible only in person on April, 20 between a.m. and 7p.m. as well as on April, 21 between 10a.m. and 7p.m. in the registration Office, Linz Brucknerhaus (address: Untere Donaulaende 7, 4010 Linz)
The participation confirmation has to be handed in when collecting the starting documents.
The starting material can be collected by a third party authorized in writing and carrying the participation confirmation.
The starting numbers are not being mailed, no exceptions.

Withdrawal from registration is not possible even if the runner is prevented from taking part in the event. No claim can be made for a refund of the entrance fees.
ISSUE of starting numbers and chips
April, 20 between 9a.m. and 7p.m. and April, 21 between 10a.m and 7p.m. in the Linz Brucknerhaus (Untere Donaulaende 7, 4010 Linz).
No starting numbers will be issued on the day of the event, except for the children´s and schoolchildren´s races on Saturday, April 21, 2012.
Time will be taken using Pentek-Timing with Champion Chip. Chip information on www.pentek-timing.at. No time measurement without chip! Every participant requires a chip in his/her shoe fastening. If you do not own a chip, you can rent one when you collect your start materials at the Linz Brucknerhaus.
Participants who only want to RENT a chip for the Linz Donau Marathon will be charged Euro 10.00 for a WHITE ONE-DAY CHIP for single use when they collect their starting number. This fee includes a deposit of Euro 7.00 which will be reimbursed if the chip is returned by 5p.m. on the day of the event. Chips that are not returned will be automatically considered as sold, but cannot be used again.
It is also possible to buy a chip. Participants who wish to BUY a chip will receive a YELLOW CHIP at a price of Euro 33.00 on collecting their starting number. Chips already sold will not be taken back. If a participant has bought a chip, this can be used generally worldwide at all events managed by a Champion Chip partner.

PLEASE NOTE
Runners below the age of 18 require a declaration of consent by their parent of guardian in order to take part.Participation on bicycles, roller skates and other sports equipment is not permitted.
It is not permitted for non-competitors to accompany the runners(in particular on bicycles, roller skates and other sport equipment) and this will result in the disqualification of the runner involved.
Special security staff will carryout checks along the course.
Any runner changing the starting number will be disqualified.
Rules for Participation
Liability disclaimer
Participation at your own risk. Upon accepting the starter number each participant bindingly declares that they have no health conditions which would speak against their participation part in the race.
The organiser, his representatives and helpers are not liable under any circumstances for damage of any kind incurred by people, goods or assets. This liability disclaimer also covers accidents, lost or mislaid clothing and other items as well as the function of the timekeeping.
Withdrawal from registration is not possible even if the runner is prevented from taking part in the event. No claim can be made for a refund of the entrance fees.
The organiser is authorised, for any reason whatsoever, to make changes to the event or even to cancel it for good reason. In each of these cases no claim can be made for refund of the entrance fees and neither can the organiser be held liable for compensation by participants.
Safety precautions
Participation using sports equipment such as race wheelchairs (except in the hand-bike race) is not permitted. Skaters may only take part in the Inline Skating race.
It is not permitted for runners to be accompanied by persons not participating in the race (especially not persons on bicycles, skates, baby pushchair or other sports equipment). This will lead to disqualification. Instructions given by the police and/or race officials have to be complied with. Race officials will be posted at all important control points. All distances of 1 km are marked. The organiser reserves the right to refuse registration and/or participation to anyone for reasons he sees as important, and also reserves the right to disqualify any participant for reasons he considers important. Disqualification will occur especially if the official start number is passed onto a third party, if it is changed in any way, if the print is covered up or made unreadable. Disqualification will also be incurred for cheating or other actions which disrupt due execution of the event or which endanger other participants. Disqualified participants will not be permitted
to start for the following two years in the BOREALIS Linz Donau Marathon.
Data collection and copyright on audio and/or visual material
Upon registration the participant assents to their personal data being recorded electronically and to this data being used for the purpose of carrying out the event. The participant further declares that they assent to the distribution of, publication of or other use of photos, film material and interviews in radio, television, internet, print media, books; mechanical reproduction (films, video cassettes etc.) made or taken in connection with their participation in this event, as well as the data given in the registration form at no charge.
Timekeeping
Timekeeping will be carried out by the company Pentek Timing using Champion chips. Information about their chip on www.pentek-timing.at. No time will be recorded without a chip!
miscellaneous
The event will take place in all weather conditions. Errors and omissions reserved. Place of jurisdiction is Linz, Austria. Upon registration the participant confirms the correctness of their data and accepts the rules for participation.
