The start for the quarter marathon, relay marathon and marathon is on the Linz highway bridge (VOEST bridge), in the direction of Vienna! The half marathon competitions start on the roadway, in the direction of Urfahr, Freistadt, about 230m ahead on the bridge.
The start for the 5K is on the Untere Donaulände, approximately at the level of Lentos
Please make sure that you arrive at the start in good time to avoid hectic, stress and nervousness. (approx. 15-20 minutes walk from Linz's main square). There is enough space for spectators.

Exclusively for marathon runners: You can't miss the pacemakers! Every finish line runner standing in the relevant starting blocks is marked with a corresponding flag and printed finish time. On Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 13:00, the pacemakers will be introduced on the action stage during the sports fair. There will be plenty of finish times available, as the period ranges from three hours to a running time of 4:45 hours, with intervals of 15 minutes.
All competitions are timed using the MikaTag (chip timing in the start number). The tag is attached to the back of your race number and must not be bent.
The use of ChampionChips or other timing chips is not possible.

Yes, on the day of the marathon, the fastest 3 men and women in each event will be honored on the stage on the main square (relay teams only first place). The exact schedule will be announced on our website in good time.
In the marathon national championships, the fastest 6 women and men, as well as teams, will be honored on the main stage. The Masters and National Championship award ceremony will take place on the day of the event in the Old Town Hall.
For organizational reasons, there will be a separate award ceremony for the "School Runs" and "Fire Brigade Runs" events, as well as the city championships, approx. 4 weeks after the marathon.
Ethiopian Fikre Bekele achieved the current marathon course record in 2022 in the time of 2:06:13. With this best time, the Oberbank Linz Danube Marathon is the second fastest marathon in Austria.
The women's marathon course record was set in 2023 by Kenyan Teclah Chebet with a time of 2:27.18.
In 2015 Andrea Mayr and Anita Baierl caused a sensation by breaking the existing women's half marathon and quarter marathon records.
